Crispin Bennett

Crispin currently serves as the Vice President of the Residential Appraisal Division for Hancock Bank. Previously, Crispin was the Senior Chief Appraiser for First Horizon National Corporation and Vice President of Collateral Risk/Chief appraiser at First Citizens Bank where his key responsibilities include oversight of the Appraisal Department as well as development and oversight of collateral risk policies and procedural guidelines for First Citizens Bank. His long time career within the lending industry has created a unique and well rounded perspective based on his lending background, his experiences as an Independent Fee Appraiser and Collateral Risk Consultant, Vice President of Compliance at a mortgage compliance and fraud detection firm, and Director of Governance/Chief Appraiser at a major AMC and data company.

Crispin is a member of the South Carolina Chapter of the Appraisal Institute where he serves as Vice Chair for Government Relations, and is a member of the National Leadership and Advisory Council. Crispin is an active member of the Collateral Risk Network, and has served as a member of Title/Appraisal Vendor Management Association (TAVMA), and Appraisal Foundation’s Industry Advisory Council which provides consultation to the Appraisal Standards Board and the Appraisal Qualifications Board.

Crispin is a prominent instructor, and a frequent contributor on appraisal and mortgage industry panels. He has authored various articles and bulletins for appraisers, mortgage professionals, lenders, and underwriters keeping them abreast of regulatory changes, business trends, fraud tips, and promoting innovative appraisal solutions to help minimize collateral risk.
