The Data & Technology Committee’s task will be to work with industry to evaluate the impact and implications of technological innovations on valuations and housing and to develop a work plan of engagement on how the collective influence of the diverse membership of the CRN can effect positive outcomes for the valuation community, it’s customers and the preservation of American’s greatest investment.
Chair: Leland Trice
Lee Trice has spent his entire career in the field of real estate valuation services. He currently serves as Principal of The Trice Group and Valucentric. The Trice Group is a Regional firm providing residential and commercial valuation services in the Mid Atlantic states. Valucentric is a newly formed valuation firm that is expanding into major markets, currently including operations in the States of CA, NV, WI, IL, IN, PA, DE, MD, DC, VA, TN, and FL.
Lee graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelors Degree in Economics and a concentration in Computer Science. He is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Lee has been active in numerous Appraisal Institute roles – including Chair of the Leadership Development Advisory Council and Chair of the AI Reports project team.
In addition to valuation services, Lee is a founding partner of REVTEK, a technology company that built and manages the ENGAGE cloud based transaction management platform.
Lee resides in Ocean City, Maryland with his wife and two children. He has served on numerous charitable and civic organizations including Salisbury University Board of Directors.
Vice-Chair: George Opelka
George Opelka is Senior Vice President of ACI located in Palm Coast, Florida. ACI has been a leading innovator in providing software solutions for the valuation industry for more than 30 years. George joined ACI in 1993 and oversees all sales and marketing activities for the company. He plays an integral role in business development and establishing strategic partnerships that connects thousands of real estate appraisers to their clients using ACI technology.
George was exposed to the appraisal profession at birth. His father, F. Gregory Opelka, is a national past president of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers and a 2012 recipient of The Lifetime Achievement Award from the Appraisal Institute. Prior to joining ACI, George was active in the real estate information industry where he worked for California-based Damar Corporation (2 years) and the SREA Market Data Center (6 years), two national real estate information providers.
Mr. Opelka has lectured around the country for 25 years on topics covering Appraisal automation, real estate information, and data standards.
